I'm a solo artist and have been composing/producing tunes for roughly 10 years under the name of pedestrial. Productionwise my tracks are very hit and miss because i rush to finish them and move on to the next. I find i am at my most creative during the small hours which isn't great for my neighbours or my sleeping pattern. If i just liked one style/genre of music and that's all i listened to and that's all i created i would get bored and uninspired very quickly, i have hundreds of finished and unfinished tracks on back up disks i'll upload as i come across them in between writing new ones.
Why this name?
The name Pedestrial just popped into my head, i think i was going through an industrial phase but the name pedustrial would've been a bit too much.
Do you play live?
It is impossible for me to play live unless i sat in front of a laptop, and that's not exactly live is it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is the best thing that's ever happened in respect of getting the more interesting and underground music to more ears
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
First off the majors wouldn't touch me with a bargepole, i'd sign to an independent label if they'd have me, i doubt there's many major labels that allow complete artistic freedom and your own direction, too many bands have been steered/manipulated into a diluted mediocre trend, that's not very appealing to me.
Band History:
I've been in a few bands playing drums, bass or guitar but nothing to do with Pedestrial.
Your influences?
I like most music that's not generic and has some kind of passion about it. Be it electronic, classical, drum n bass, hardcore punk, thrash, experimental, my mind's pretty open.
