to telll you the truth i dont remember, monster joe gave john the idea. in my opinion provoke the human means to provke a persons thoughts or actions in a positive way, we try to convay such a message or to at least get people thinking as much as possible.

PTH is members of a lot of prevous long island ska punk emo and hardcore bands. It all started back in the spring of 2002, I(john) was interested in starting a new band. For vocals and a bassist, I looked no further than longtime friends A.C. and Sean Crombie. Now, all we needed was a drummer. We found that drummer in Billy Kefalis.(Chasing*Amy) After a few practices, we played a backyard or two. They were alright, people seemed to really like us. In early summer of 2002 we recorded 3 songs that we released as a demo. As things started to become more serious, Sean couldn't really handle the responsibility of being in the band. So he quit, and we had to look for another bassist. We had Kevin Hallcott fill in on bass for us one show, and everything seemed to click. So we eventually asked Kevin to join the band. As we started practicing again, we were trying to find a new sound. This became more and more of a problem. It seemed as if everytime we'd try to practice something would go wrong. Eventually, we just stopped. Alex, Kevin and I thought that maybe if we try and find a new practice space then this sh*** would stop. So we tried that, didn't work. So one night after Alex was pissed off because we had yet another cancelled practice, we decided maybe it was time for a new drummer, because we weren't capturing the sound we intended and practicing was too much of a hassel. We decided to try out Anthony "The Rat" Cirallo. Anthony seemed to fit in nicely with the band, and he is now our full time drummer. So, the band you know and love as Provoke The Human now consists of Alexxx - Vox, John - Guitar, Kevin - Bass, and Ant - Drums.
