The Larksmen, an indie/garage rock band hail from the Los Angeles area. Although the group are considered primarily as a garage rock outfit, listeners will notice a vast array of influences ranging from 60's British Invasion, surf and garage punk to blues, lounge and jazz with a little avant garde thrown in for good measure. On December 19, 2006, the group released their self-titled debut album on Skylark Records with a special appearance by Sean Bonniwell from The Music Machine.
Why this name?
The Larksmen name has evolved from it's original alias, The Skylarks.

The group currently performs select dates throughout it's local scene in the greater Los Angeles area.

According to the group "That would depend on the label and the specifics of the deal involved."
Band History:
Originally formed in 1994 as The Skylarks, the quartet’s venerable personnel evolved to become The Larksmen: Eric John Leslie; vocals & lead guitar, Scott Roberts; bass, D. Poole; organ/rhythm guitar, and Lenny Montoya (The Leaving Trains, The Hangmen); drums.

The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, The Yardbirds, The Music Machine, The Seeds, Syd Barrett era-Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth, The B-52's, Mike Bloomfield, Wes Montgomery, X, Black Flag, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, The Doors, The Beach Boys, Howlin' Wolf, The Everly Brothers, The Collins Kids and a few others we've forgotten about!

Rickenbacker, Mosrite and Gibson guitars with amplification by Fender and Vox.

Since the release of their debut album called "The Larksmen" the band has enjoyed radio airplay on a number of station across the nation and in Europe. Also reviews from the ablum in print and on-line are generally favorable.
