Egyptian born, with Greek and Lebanese heritage, Chantal Chamandy's music is a testament to the fact that she is a true child of the universe.
Based in Montreal Canada, Chantal writes, produces and sings all her own music - music of her heart and her heritage. You Want Me, the albums first single, exploded onto the British charts, maintaining the enviable Top Five position throughout the summer of 2005. The track left the British public begging for more from Chantal's forthcoming debut album entitled Love Needs You.
Chantals music, like the woman herself, is impossible to pigeon hole. Fluent in five languages, her English lyrics are complemented by passages in French, (Chantals first language), Arabic, Italian and Spanish and her music appeals to all ages and cultures. She received formal training as an opera singer under the tutelage of Carmen Mehta - whose musical pedigree is world-renowned. Each song on Love Needs You is loaded with truth, love, passion and a full range of lifes emotions. You Want Me, paired with the fiery and exotic video filmed in Morocco, (which received heavy airplay on Londons MTV and The Box), transports the listener into a world of color, mystique and possibility.

The driving, sweeping textures of You Want Me and the other 13 tracks on Love Needs You capture exciting elements of all the styles she loves: Latin (the track features the lush guitar work of former Gypsy Kings member Chico Castillo), Indian (her musical partner Subir Dev hails from Bangladesh) and Middle Eastern, whose rhythms come naturally to the artist.
