critically acclaimed slide guitarist and songwriter Nick buckingham who was spawned and raised on Dartmoor, south west britain,is 'probably the finest slide guitarist to come out of the U.K.country blues scene' according to some...it is what it is, is nicks comment on his music, if you want it check me out on itunes and support my cause then that would be cool...if not .... thats cool too...
the music is laced with not only british countryfolk influences but also heavily influenced by the delta sound,' i have an affinity not only because its great music which has been enjoyed by generations and influenced everyone practically, but also my great uncle was the son of an african slave who was shipwrecked off the coast of cornwall at the end of the 19th century, he told me many stories during my childhood about his father, the struggle of being practically the only black family in cornwall and the music he was brought up with and how it helped,, this totally inspired me as a child, and i guess it lived on in my music...i hope anyway..
download all my music at itunes....
MY DAD was my first GUITAR HERO .... he taught me 'riders in the sky' by the shadows when i was 9 and thats where it all began...
i got into the blues via rock music ....the first album i bought was 'ELIMINATOR' by ZZTOP,and thats where it began..... i discovered bill hicks in the early nineties, and he inspired me more to play than any musician i had heard up to that point, he inspired my whole life and transformed the way i look at world..i cannot thank him enough...god rest his soul..im totally into hendrix, clapton, led zep, pearl jam, chris whitley ,john lee hooker, springsteen, bob marley, the byrds, bert jansch, john renbourn, davy graham, tommy emmanuel, union station,JOHNNY CASH, ELVIS both presley and costello, nirvana, stone temple pilots and anything else DIRTY....
i used to be in the black buddha band, but that was a long long time ago in far faraway place
i dont know what category i am as far as music is concerned i can hear a lot of influences in my playing from blues to country to grungy rock...andi do wear those influences on my sleeve..
i write and play what i feel,,its the only way i can do it...
