Born in 1998, Joujouka is an ever-evolving new wave electro band led by Numanoid a.k.a DJ Tsuyoshi, Funky Gong and the newest VJ addition Kazu.
Catapulting right into the worldwide arena that same year by releasing their debut album,with their original members in London, they immediately started to tour major music centers including Tokyo, London, and Paris. They didn't waste any time before releasing ""in Japan in December of the same year.
Appearances in major outdoor festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival and Oslo's Alavika Festival, and sharing stages with electronic icons such as System 7 and X-Dream, followed.
They continue to surprise and excite fans around the world not limited to the electronic scene but also in rock and various art scenes. As their newest album, "Never Look Back" starts circulating and stirring up cross-genres across the world, we await what they have in store to surprise us next.

As co-founder of the legendary trance label Matsuri Productions based in London from '94 to '99, he is also one of the world’s best known trance and techno DJs. He was the resident DJ at the famous Return to the Source in England in 1994, and Twilo New York in 2000. He has played some of the biggest electronic events worldwide including the Berlin Love Parade, Sydney’s Mardi Gras, the Fuji Rock Festival, Tribal Gathering, Phoenix Festival, Rainbow 2000, Earthcore and Return to the Source to name but a few.
He has been producing music since 1994 on literally hundreds of labels worldwide and has been the musical director for Issey Miyake and Versace (Tokyo). In 1999 he started the monthly night at New York’s famous ARC (ex-Vinyl, Twilo). He returned to his roots in Tokyo in 2000 and started his own regular party Tokiodrome (www.tokiodrome.com) at the famous Liquid Room and from October 2004 he is back playing regularly in New York at BLVD.
He has recently set-up a new project, Feedback Recordings, Japan’s hippest psytrance/trance label based in Tokyo www.feedbackrecordings.com.
Their first compilation was released in late 2004.
