High Road combines the sounds of Classic Rock and Southern Rock to form a new Adult Pop Rock!
Why this name?
There was no special story involved in this. It sounded like a simple name yet evoked a positive feeling about it.
Do you play live?
Not at this time. I'm a Studio Musician writing and recording original songs. I hope to form a band someady that will enjoy playing all of my music. I terribly miss playing live shows. I played in Southern Rock bands in local clubs and stages for just over 10 years.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet creates a "Right Now as it is Happening" situation in the music industry, and puts this immediately into the grasp or normal everyday people as well as Industry Professionals alike.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I think I would.
Band History:
High Road Music began in January of 2006, when I began writing and recording original music. I currently record in a home recording studio and hope to advance towards writing some songs that make the charts in some markets, and to compile and sell CD's, all while creating a personality for High Road Music that the general public will enjoy.
Your influences?
I grew up playing Southern Rock Guitar music and gravitated into Classic Rock and Top 40 while playing in bands. My main influences are Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Buffet, Blackfoot and Molly Hatchet.
Favorite spot?
I have lived int he Philly area, The Boston Area and also the Fort Lauderdale area, and I found all places to have great and wildly diverse personalities for music. I feel that I have aquirred various tendencies in my music that originated from each place. I have no actual favorites. I lvoed them all.
Equipment used:
For Recording, I use Cakewalk's SONOR Producer's Edition 4, Sound Forge 7, and Isotpoe for mastering. A Behringer 16 channel mixing console along with a Marshall 990 MXL mic combined with a normal studio monitor set up.
For playing music, I use a Behringer twin combo amp, or my Ibanez Half Stack.
Anything else...?
From January 2006 to September 2006, I had sequestered myself in my home studio to write original music, at which time I wrote, arranged, recorded, mixed and mastered 10 songs which I released on CD on 1 September 2006, through High Road Music. I am currently unsigned and I hope to put my music out to the world in hopes that the general public will like the sound and personality of my music enough that they will talk about it and pass it along.
I had spent the better part of 20 years playing cover songs, and now I'm having the time of my life writing originals.
