My NEW SoundClick page is up. My old one is still functioning, but I'll probably delete it. I'm just in the process of getting this one up to date with everything I want on it.

Why this name?
My name was a long and difficult battle. I started out going by my internet screenname, iisryan (I is Ryan...yes, I know, it sucks, but iamryan was already taken). Upon realizing just how bad that was...I tentatively released everything under the mock record label name iProductions (I love the lower case letter i -- it comes from iisryan). That was great except that doesn't really sound like a great name for a single individual, it's not funny, and, apparently, Apple computers already had that little i thing going for them. It was about that time that I started thinking that I needed a new name, so, after some thinking, I decided upon Parodx (pronounced like paradox). The word is half paradox and half parody. Seems cool, right? Wrong. I knew there was something better out there for me. Something that really says, "HEY! I'm a white and nerdy, young and funny, video game and internet obsessed rap comedy artist that isn't just here to joke around!" ...except for that last part. Then it came to me. The notorious message video gamers have feared and dreaded seeing for generations at a time...Insert Coin(s) to Continue. My little logo is the (s) because, HEY! It's awesome! Really, is that not the best idea ever? ... I need a hug.
Do you play live?
No. I've never performed live before.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's great for unsigned artists like myself. It allows us to get our music out there and it helps spread the joy and fruit of our hard work. It's great for us music pirates, too! Probably sucks for the artists, though...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Ha! Perhaps. I really doubt that would ever happen, though.

Your influences?
"Weird Al" Yankovic, of course. The two that have inspired me to get into parody: Mad Genius of Ruben and the Novelty Shack (an amazingly talented single-person comedy act), and Weirdo Jace of Nuclear Bubble Wrap (an up and coming parody group). I owe my interest in comedy and my sense of humor to Weird Al, again, Steve Oedekerk, Jim Carrey, Steve Martin, Mitch Hedberg...you know, only the greatest. And, of course, saving the best for last, everything comes back to God. Without my Father in Heaven, I probably wouldn't be here right now.
Favorite spot?
Anaheim, California. My home town. I live in Seattle, though, so that's the city I frequent the most.
Equipment used:
An Audio-Technica ATR-20 microphone, Adobe Audition 1.5, iTunes, and Microsoft Word are the only things I need to churn out my parodies. I use official instrumentals, rendered MIDIs, instrumental loops, or vocal cuts in the background.
Anything else...?
Even though I have recorded quite a few parodies, there are soooo many more that I haven't. You can read all of my lyrics at my AmIRight page.
