Brother D received his name from college. Everyone on the campus knew him by this nickname. Recently, Bro. D changed his name to "Daril" (The Real)This name was impressed upon him by the Lord.

I do live performances throughout my city and state. I'm willing to travel and perform anywhere that the Lord leads me. I really enjoy what I do.

Daril was born and raised in the uptown part of New Orleans, LA. At the age of 18 he left the city to attend college at Northeast Louisiana University. His main reason for leaving the city was to get away from such a fast paced lifestyle. However, to his surprise it was a Holy Ghost setup. God had removed him from his sinful environment to save his life. On November 20,1994 Daril was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. From this moment on he committed himself to the Lord, joined the Lighthouse Church, and began to faithfully serve.

Four years later God began to impress upon Daril the idea of writing gospel rap songs that would testify of God’s goodness and how he had saved him from alcoholism, fornication, drug abuse, pistol packing, and other sinful habits. As a result, he approached his Pastor, Bishop Alvin Walker, and it was confirmed that he should pursue this ministry.

Since his start in 1998, Daril. has formed two record labels- Holiness Records (Dissolved)/Divine Records, and a publishing company- Holiness Publishing. He has recorded three CDs, and he has performed throughout Monroe, its surrounding areas, Mississippi, New Orleans and even the 2004 Holy Hiphop Awards Show in Atlanta Georgia. In addition, he has performed on the following TV shows-The Ernie Miles Show, In the Spotlight, and CityWatch. Currently, he is receiving airplay on Rejoice 1680 and the Drama Free Network.

In October of 2008 Daril was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the Holy Hiphop Volume 6 Compilation CD, which is currently being distributed worldwide by EMI.

Currently, Daril is preparing to release his fourth project entitled Conception and Rebirth. This CD will be released in 2010.

In addition to being a producer, Damon is also a motivational speaker and author. He has spoken in a variety of settings such as elementary schools, high schools, graduations, conferences, juvenile facilities, entrepreneurial programs, and religious institutions, and he has published one book.
