SHAMELESS' NEW ALBUM AIN'T NO SHAME
Scuttling out of California's legendary rock scene like some hairy, eight-legged guitar-wielding beastie, Shameless, accompanied by debut album 'Now Playing', proudly - and loudly - announce they're back.
Delivering the type of uncompromising rock/metal fusion that comes with years spent paying dues in LA's rock clubs, Shameless boast a musical lineage that includes Gun N' Roses, Bon Jovi and Motley Crüe . . . and with ancestry like that it's no surprise this four-piece from Upland, Southern California wear their influences with pride.
Formed in 1987 - the same year fellow West Coasters Guns N' Roses unleashed their debut album – Shameless have recently broken out of the US and, with fresh new single 'She's so Pretty' in hand, Steven "Blade" Hunter (vocals), James Davis (guitar), John Diaz (drums) and Chris Crash (bass) are about to hit the rest of the world right between the eyes.
Bursting with the kind of stripped down, party energy that causes kids the world over to beg, borrow or steal their first guitar, 'She's so Pretty' is a foot tapper in the best rock tradition that had outdoor audiences at this year's UK Dorset Steam festival rocking. The video for 'Pretty' is enjoying airtime in Latin America and the song can currently be heard on Japanese radio. The band has also been interviewed several times on TV stations UPN 13 and Fox 11 recently claimed the award for “best hard rock band” in the Southern California music awards.
Eschewing the kind of corporate-speak that has marred other bands' progress, guitarist James Davis says the band are still in it for the purest of reasons: “to play music and do what we enjoy doing: entertaining people.” This type of attitude saw the band land a major deal with their new label, 909 Records.
Currently warming up with concerts all over California which includes support slots for Firehouse and Warrant, the band have a US tour lined up and with the help of Stephen Pearcy of RATT fame, the guys will be hosting a massive launch party for “Now Playing” on September 16th 2006 at the Angels Road House, Yucaipa, CA. Don't miss it!
