play lo-fi play hi-fi  Believe In New Orleans
My first experience was the violin in elementry school, I played it for four years. At fourteen my Mom brought out her guitar and taught me three chords. I literly played until my finger tips were bleeding. I was bound and over determined to make a smooth transition from one chord to another. While that was accomplished it was a while before I could play again. I play by ear so I did not pursue lessons instead, I tuned up to a particular artist and jammed right along with whom ever. Thru this adventure of playing and writing I found myself quitting numerous times, only to find myself picking it back up for another stretch. So I elected to quit quitting cause I couldnt quit quitting. I noticed the things I started writing about were problems friends and family came to me about. I would opinionate to them and when that did not work, I would write them a song. When they would hear the song they got it. So I keep traveling this path in the proverbial sense of starving artist, or paying those dues. I recently released a video with a friend on you tube or you can get to it from ( ricangus.com ) and go to myspace then profile. Till I am no more this is what I will be doing allways somthing to say in a song about something... *ric
