Tantalus is the new sensation in gothic metal and rock.
Based in St Helens, Merseyside we aim to blow the opposition apart by being creating original pieces of music with diversity, passion and aggression.
The band is in it's early stages at the moment jamming every so often. So far we have a choice of Ashley (DJ Flash) Hughes, Kurt (Scouse) Hughes, James (Shakey) McGinley and Mark (Red) Harrison and a few others but we will not finalise line up until we are happy. Rumour has it that some of Mark's old band "Fonetix" are joining forces with us to form the ultimate union.
We approach this challenge with a "never say die" attitude and a strong bond of togetherness and trust.

Why this name?
(DJ) Flash come up with the idea of "Tantalus" while playing Deus Ex with Scouse, Flash found the tantalus cheat so amusing that he suggested it as a band name meaning "to blow the opposition apart"

For god's sake, give us some time.
Hoping to play live at the Citadel at Rubberneck and Overload as well as a few pubs, but see above. Most likely 2007.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Great for small, upcoming bands, bad for major artists.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe, maybe not, we have our own thoughts on that.
