Thomas Palminteri is a singer/songwriter, composer with a subtle and varied gift for lyrics and melody in the tradition of Paul Simon and Randy Newman. He has written both songs that tell a story such as Spring Has Gone and Waiting for the No.12 and composed instrumental music such as Journey to the Black Madonna the enigmatic Mass in C that defy categorization.

In his teenage years he developed a strong appreciation for Rock music beginning with The Beatles and later became enamored with the more eclectic groups of his adolescence such as the Talking Heads and Elvis Costello. Later in college when he decided to study music more formally Tom became deeply affected by Classical and Jazz particularly J.S. Bach, Mozart, Faure and Debussy.

Why this name?
Well it is my name. Ha, ha...I am a Singer/Songwriter and guitar/piano player. I have been writing and performing my music for over 15-years. As lifelong fan of music, film and art in general I started taking music more seriously when I entered SUNY Purchases school for Studio Composition in 1988. At Purchase I started the group Eric's In Oregon in the late 1980s as a showcase for me and my friends songs. Although I consider them all to be terrific musicians eventually Eric's In Oregon became a sometimes a group sometimes a solo act kind of thing featuring mainly my songs and compositions so as of late I am playing out as simply Tom Palminteri. I am still great friends with the former members of Erics In Oregon. Many of there names are listed here. But right now I am currently looking to record and perform as a solo artist, Tom Palminteri.
Do you play live?
I enjoy performing live is varied venues. Most recently my favorite place to play is The Pisces Cafe in Babylon NY! A great place for live, original music!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is amazing! I mean because of the Internet there is no reason why artist can't be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I mean the major labels have the best record producers and studio's. I love the whole "do-yourself thing" but I would like to eventually be produced by a major label.

Anything else...?
I just bought myself a Casio Privia TX-110 with 88-Keys and I've been trying to use it more for my composing.
