Hi, I'm Jason.
I've played keyboard for about 20 years, guitar for 13, and bass for maybe three or four. I'm more musician than techie, but I'm learning how to record myself.

Why this name?
My favorite fantasy band name was already taken. OMS stands for, "Old Man Saturn." I'm into astrology, and Saturn figures dominantly in my chart. The "& Friends" part is in anticipation of collaborating with people. Plus "OMS" alone was already taken as a name.
Do you play live?
I don't play live yet, but I think I will be trying to get into that sometime within the next year.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it certainly makes for easier collaboration over the internet. The change to the industry is probably crippling in some way, but I'm sure they're still making money. The internet does level the playing field, though. People have a new venue for expanding their grassroots audience.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah.
Your influences?
Listen for yourself. I like mostly British alternative, though decent American bands have been popping up all over the place lately: Interpol; The Bravery; the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs; The Killers... hmmm who else?
Favorite spot?
My favorite place that I've been to is Switzerland.
Equipment used:
Roland XP-80, Takamini acoustic/electric, and Mexican Fender Telecaster. I've also got two 50watt amps: a Marshall, and a Rogue bass amp.
I also have an old, beat up Ibanez bass. It holds it's tuning, but the electronics create a little buzz.
