Misshapen is a blend of morose folk and black metal. It is meant to provide a glimpse at the evils of the modern world through high-poetry narrations of experiences with nature. Sounds like Forest Shamans with heavy guitars.
Why this name?
I chose the word "Misshapen" as a vague refrence to a song by Agalloch called "The Misshapen Steed." That song had a special ambience that felt to me like the sort of music I'd like to make.
Do you play live?
Misshapen is a solo project, so I am unable to play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
If it werent for the internet, I would never have a chance of being heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I think so. I dont really have any information on doing anything like this; at the moment I'm just focussed on making music.
Your influences?
My main influence for Misshapen was Burzum, but I also try to stay as far away as I can from the work of others, so that Misshapen is really "my own."
Favorite spot?
There's a tiny forest near my house.
Equipment used:
Fender Fat Strat, generic Crate amp, generic Tin Whistle, Yamaha Keyboard, generic Bodhran. I'm not really big on brand name stuff. As long as it works.
Anything else...?
Leave me comments if you like wht I do, and I'll put my songs up for purchase or sell an album or something.
