I am a solo artist. I have been jazz trained on guitar and classically trained on string bass. I am a songwriter, vocalist, and arranger. While a rockabilly feel is at the core of much of my music, I try to take it to another level with the infusion of jazz, classical, and straight rock elements. I have written straight jazz, classical, country, and new wave music as well. Nothing is off limits!
Why this name?
My Parents made that choice for me. Actually, I was named after both my grandfather and Pope Paul VI.
Do you play live?
I've finished one CD and am currently working on a second one. I want to form a band to play out these originals in the near future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm presently involved in a collaboration on a piece with two other artists. One is in NYC and the other is in Santa Cruz, CA. Enough said.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That depends on a lot of different circumstances.
Band History:
I've been in quite a few bands over the years, but this is my first attempt to go it alone as a solo artist. Ultimately, I'd love to hook up with like-minded musicians to form a new band.
Your influences?
The Beatles (especially Ringo!), Brian Setzer, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Johnny Cash, Both Elvis's, Link Wray, Eddie Cochran, Dave Brubeck, Gene Krupa, Lisa Loeb, DEVO, The B-52's, The Cars, Blondie, Aerosmith, BTO, Beethoven, etc, etc, etc...... Virtually all types of music!
Favorite spot?
I love Daytona Beach. Orlando can be cool. Boston is awesome. Still, NYC is THE city.
