I'm a Twenty Four year old Country singer songwriter - I wrote the songs on here with a record company I used to work with.
I've been singing since I was seven, starting off with Opera and Musical theatre but Country is my passion and I have been singing Country for the past 6 years.
Why this name?
I used to go under the stage name of Katie Monro but now, after encouragement from my Family and Friends, I've changed it back to Katie Brooks- not that it's any more interesting - it just seems to fit better!
Do you play live?
I'm currently looking to do some more gigs or to join a band. The best Live Event I sang at was for the Make a Wish Charity. Even though I have performed Country songs in many places before this was my first Gig at an event which was entirely Country. The atmosphere was fantastic! It was great to see so many people who knew all the songs and were up dancing. The audience was really supportive.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it helps to promote established artists better but it also gives newer artists like me a chance to be heard. In addition to this, it gives people access to music that they wouldn't readily be able to get hold of. I have found that, especially with Country music and with trying to find music I heard during my summer in Canada and the States, there isn't always a vast selection in music shops and you can't always find what you are looking for. The Internet is great for helping you find the music that isn't always in the british charts.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, so if anyone is interested please drop me a line!
Band History:
I started singing at the age of seven when a teacher at school discovered a talent for music. It was after that I got a real passion for music and I used to sing all the time. Everybody who met me would become an audience which was great for me but I’m not sure it was so great for my neighbours, babysitters, the milkman, etc.

From the age of eleven I attended lessons in opera and light opera once a week until I was eighteen with a personal singing tutor. Although singing opera wasn’t exactly my thing but it provided me a good technical foundation for my singing, and the festivals and competitions I performed at, gave me a good idea of how to perform and have confidence in my voice.

At the age of eighteen I was fortunate enough to be accepted as one of ten associates of Braveheart Records. These ten eventually became five and the five remaining associates formed female vocal harmony group who performed under the name of Fallen Angel. With Braveheart Records, I performed as both a soloist and with the group. The solo music I wrote, recorded and performed was Country/ Rock music influenced by the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain and Reba McIntyre (some of these songs can be heard on the music page).

As a member of the group, I performed at many prestigious events throughout Liverpool such as the opening of the Lord Mayor’s Millennium Campaign on the Magic 1548 Christmas Tree (upon which Braveheart Records was responsible for providing the entertainment that year) and The Lord Mayors Ball. We all also performed up and down the country and in many venues in Liverpool.

Since the company folded I have completed a degree in Creative and Performing Arts at Liverpool Hope University College and starred in productions of Musicals such as ‘A Rock ‘n’ Roll Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Chess’, and ‘My Fair Lady’, undertaking various roles in each.

In the summer of 2004 I was also one of the final ten contestants in the Miss Merseyside Competition 2004.
Your influences?
First and foremost The Dixie Chicks as listening to their album 'Wide Open Spaces' was what made me start singing Country Music. I also Like Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban, The Rascal Flatts, SheDaisy, Travis Tritt, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, and Alan Jackson amongst others. Older Style Country I love Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. I also listen to Bonnie Raitt and Reba McEntire.
Favorite spot?
I love my Home. The best places I have visited though are Nashville, Graceland and the Rocky Mountains in Vancouver.
Equipment used:
Yamaha, JBL Soundfactor, Shure, and whatever the PA is at an event I sing at cos you can't always sing with your own.
Anything else...?
I think that's it actually - I've probably blown my own trumpet enough, I'm boring myself - if you do want more info though please don't hesitate to contact me.
