Colours Run are a Manchester band, and all hail from the area (except for Tim, who comes from Liverpool, a small fishing village near Manchester). They devote themselves to writing and playing music with genuine emotional depth and catchy hooks.
"Could be, and should be, absolutely massive", say www.manchestermusic.co.uk, with "the sort of tunes you could imagine filling stadiums". Their current favourite venue is the Blue Cat Café in Stockport, which is not quite a stadium, but is nevertheless very nice and has a lovely bartender.
They're currently the #1 most downloaded band on MSN - you can help them stay there by downloading their songs (for free) from their MSN home page.
Colours Run are currently listening to a lot of Rufus Wainwright and Elbow. Tim would very much like to meet Guy Garvey since he seems like a really sorted bloke who wears great scarves

Why this name?
It comes from one of our songs. Colours Run felt like the most emotional song we'd written, and it really seemed to speak about the way we felt as people. It just seemed the most appropriate thing to name the band after.
Do you play live?
We regularly gig in the North of England. Our best moment would have to be the first gig we every played, since we weren't even supposed to be playing there! We gatecrashed a band night at The Farmer's Arms in Lancaster and said "what do you MEAN we're not on the list!" They let us play, the crowd loved us, the rest is history.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's going to revolutionise it. CDs will become a minor but cool niche, much the way vinyl is now. All we need is for the MP3 business to be standardised, with no one company owning a clear monopoly. You can never have a healthy market without competition.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but we would want to wait until we were in a position where we were established and successful, so that the relationship would be one of mutual benefit.
Band History:
I'm Tim Cameron, and I play lead vocals and acoustic guitar.
Dave Green is our lead guitarist, and also plays bass when Paul is too busy being clever.
Paul Robinson (bassist, mostly) also plays keyboards and, when provoked, French Horn.
Our drummer is Trevor Kennedy, the really short-haired guy. Paul's hair is medium length, mine is somewhat dishevelled, and Dave's looks like a small mammoth is hibernating on his head.
Our final lineup came together in 2005 and we haven't looked back.

Favorite spot?
It's got to be Manchester. The best nightlife, the most colourful accents...
Equipment used:
Dave uses a Gibson. I've got a washburn electro-acoustic. Trev has a Pearl kit, and Paul's got some kind of mad custom bass that costs £36,000. Well, maybe not that much.
