A Tribute To Veterans evolved from my radio program, Country Stew. I did special Veterans Tribute Shows each year for Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The shows were heard by a record producer, Mr. Roger Glenn Miller, and he was inspired to put together a CD of traditional country music that paid tribute to our Military and Veterans and included these special readings from my program on the CD.
Why this name?
The title, A Tribute to Veterans, comes from the very moving Tribute written by Jerry Callow of Michigan.
Do you play live?
I have performed these recitations many times in public at civic functions, schools and Veteran's halls in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Florida. The response is always overwhelming and emotional because the people in this country have a deep love and respect for the men and woman who have fought for our freedom in the past and continue to defend it with their lives today. I am humbled by the opportunity to help them to express that emotion.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and mp3's make music more personal, an exchange directly between the artist and the listener.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No.
