KPARKA in Diamonds representing the Northside 4 Life. I'm just pimping easy on Soundclick.com baby. To all my houlligans, hot mommas, and dirty drama queens your in for a treat. Peep game because the block is hot.
Why this name?
One of my uncles I use to go to the studio with gave it to me and it just stuck with me.
Do you play live?
I grab the mic whenever I can. I try to keep my rymes simple and to the point with a lot of catchy hooks. It aint a lot of slang be spit in a college town. If you wanna get paid people have to understand and relate a little.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's opening up the world to a host of artist, not just the ones that the larger corps want you to hear. Every day on the hour 24/7. 98% of all the radio stations in america have sold out to the larger firms so we dont really listen to the radio anymore up here.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd have to see what the deal is. I'm not working for .10 to .50 per CD. If I could sell 100,000 copies on my own at $7.00 to $10.00 a pop. I'd beat out any amount that they would have paid me after taxes and deductions for the videos, record play, attorney fees, etc.
Band History:
It just me. I've had a lot of different producers, rap artist, shisters, and low life skeezers that I've dealt with over the years. I'm just doing it myself now.
Your influences?
I want B.B. Kings endurance and longivity to blend with the knowledge of russel simmons and add the ear of Quincy jones. Thats a hell of a package. See them boys got real street game. True hustlers.
Favorite spot?
Chicago and Houston. It's a tie.
Equipment used:
MP3 2000, Alesis Keyboards, turntables, and some live instraments.
Anything else...?
If you listen to my tracks you gone like'em. So just layback and enjoy the ride.
