Hey Guys,

I am Shane Comer. I began playing guitar in 1990 and played in bands until around 1996. I kind of got burned in a band situation that turned me sour towards music until recently.

I have been married to my wonderful wife for the past eight years and we have a beautiful son who turns two in September. My son has inspired me to start playing music again. I have never lost my love for music, and now I want to share it with him as he grows older. This whole project I have dedicated to him and rightfully I named this project after his nickname "Lando Commando."
Why this name?
This project is named after my son's nickname.
Do you play live?
Yes, I have recently started playing in the praise and worship team at my church, First Assembly of GOD in Newport. I plan on trying to start writing some original Christian Metal music, soon. I have recently been turn onto a hard groove Christian metal band called "Demon Hunter". Man they rock.......
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
If you are marketing your band or material it’s great to get your stuff out there. If you’re doing it for fun it’s great to share your tunes with other people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not at this point in my life. I am content with my Technology administration career. I will finish my bachelor’s degree in May. Then I will have some spare time to start getting back into some band and studio situations.
Band History:
I was a bedroom musician from 1990 to 1993. In 1993 I played for Dytryin and in 1994 Corby, Mike Hall, and I started our band StoneHead. We were a pretty solid band until the first part of 1996 when we went our separate ways. I played in the DragChain Project with Chris of CNG project and I cut a few good songs from that.

Since then I have turned down several opportunities to play in bands because I felt I wasn't quite ready yet. Now I feel that my book has opened to a new chapter, and after I graduate in the spring I plan to start something new. I want to go in a direction of music I have never done before. We will just have to wait and see. :-)
Your influences?
Lets see...I know if I didn't say Randy Rhoads first a lot of people would be ready to beat me up. I have been heavily influenced over the past few years by King Diamond. I like guitar players who play with technique, melody, and emotion. Not all technique and no emotion or all emotion and no technique. I like a solid mix of skills and a lot of harmonic minors. Just sounds good in any song.
Favorite spot?
My pillows when ever I see them. It seems like I am always busy and get little sleep. I would like a better relationship with my pillows :)
Equipment used:
Well that’s a good question. I still use my custom Carvin that I played in StoneHead. I use a super distortion 3 pickup in the bridge position. It’s a pretty hot pick up and has good tone. For now, I have been using a line 6 amp I bought from Chris of CNG. After I graduate I plan to upgrade back to a Marshall amp and a New Les Paul with the MaGic Technology. I use digital computer effects of all kinds, and Cool Edit Pro to record and mix down. I also use slightly thick picks but not too thick. I also use DR hand made strings or D’Addario strings.
Anything else...?
I just wanted to say that I like one more semester until I graduate. I am looking forward to starting something new in my future musical escapades.
