I am the whole band. I mostly play guitar, but also have at my disposal a kiddy drum kit, an old sears organ, a clarinet, a recorder, a pennywhistle, a djembe, a dholak, a taos drum, a tambourine, and a couple of shakers (film canisters+grain).

The sound varies quite a bit, and i have been known to have a hard time with lyrics. As a result, there are several instrumentals. I like traditional folk music, but i also like to change it up. I love psychedelic stuff, 'indie' rock (whatever that is, i try to avoid the term but it is hard) and world music. So all that comes together.
Do you play live?
Haven't played live since the last agricultural field day where i work (experimental farm). Used to do open mics in boulder, co, flagstaff, az, lincoln, ne, and nacogdoches, tx. Have yet to branchout in new mexico. Have had 2 paying gigs in all my life (free beer not included).
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, this is one of very few opportunities i have to get my music out there so that hopefully folks other than my close friends can check it out. I see that tons of other people are doing the same thing, and i hope that listeners appreciate it as much as artists do.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe, but i doubt that would happen. Would i sign a deal with a small-ass label. More likely for me, but still along way off given my low level of output.
Your influences?
I started out as a classical music nerd, since that was what was played at home (that and 'contemporary christian'). Learned clarinet. Then got into alt type stuff in college (brit-rock, post-punk, shoegazer, then grunge revolution) before falling into the Grateful Dead whirlpool. Never saw them live, but heavy influence from them as far as 'jamming' and wide ranging influences go. Got a little disheartened with the jam band phenomenon as full concerts of 2 chords grew weary. Had always been into folk, started to go that way. Pure folk: old time, bluegrass, etc, etc. Got burned out just when the rest of the country was getting into it. Rediscovered indie college roots in Lincoln, NE and got into that again. lately have been eschewing guitar and writing for drumming along with Kirtan (traditional Hindu chanting). the drone has been important to me since showgazer days, and now comes back for more! More or less try to keep it simple (folk idea) but try not to limit myself to purely acoustic sounds.
Favorite spot?
Lincoln ,NE was right on, but no jobs for me.
New Mexico really is the land of enchantment
also, Boston is pretty nice!
