Cat Bowen
is the solo artist acoustic pop singer/song writer from the East Midlands. Using piano, vocals and guitar, Cat writes the catchy tunes that people can instantly relate to. She has recently added some new acoustic sounds to her songs and will be starting gigging again soon Her new single HIT THE GROUND RUNNING is out at the end of September but is available to listen to RIGHT HERE!!
Watch this space for updates of radio play, Live sets and write ups in newpapers and magazines. Cat is also being featured as part of iLife week with young musicians as they prepare to design and direct music videos and media packages. Cat is also set to release her new album at the end of the summer. The first album 'Just Because' is still available from Reveal Records, Derby and by email order. I thought....my name is Cat Bowen so I'll call myself...Cat Bowen!! Genius ey?!
Do you play live?
Yes, all over, I love it more than anything else in the world and my most special moment was when nearly my entire family and my friends all came to the same gig to see me! Incredible to see everyone I care about the most, supporting me and actually loving what I do! Thats what its all about folks!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it harder for people like myself in the quieter side of the industry to get heard! There's so much bad music out there that doesn't particularly take talent to write and that sometimes gets more attention than music full of talent and peoples hearts and souls! But equally, I wouldn't be uploading my songs on here if I didn't think it was worth it!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL YES!!! Gimme gimme gimme!
Band History:
Briefly, I was a singer/songwriter from the age of 13 before I even had any lessons on my instruments! Then I joined a cover band at the age of 15, then I went solo! Last year I played as a band called Kayrin, consisting of me, a guitarist and a drummer using my lyrics and my songs! People prefered my stuff when I was solo, so I've gone solo again in the last few months and have huge success so far!! I'm working on my songs with a well known producer in the hope a record label will hear the finished work!

Eva Cassidy, Nora Jones, Astrud Gillberto, Debussy, Satie, Keane, REM, Damien Rice, Tori Amos, Abba, Jamie Cullum, Alanis Morissette, Elton John, Texas, Oasis, KT Tunstall, Coldplay, Adam Smith (he's my friend!) and anyone else that writes good solid timeless tunes! Plus I'm highly influenced by love, life and laughter! O, and alcohol! No, sorry, thats UNDER the influence OF!!!
