Why this name?
I would really like to change the name there is really no story to it, It was an insignificant nickname a friend gave me/ When I first started making electronic music I didnt want to put dj Josh so dj posh fit better and then I changed it to Posh, and then now P-0SH, with the minuz zero in it which stands for depression and a feeling of not existing..
Do you play live?
not much, Im working on putting together a live show where I will be mixing all my own music, and accually be making new music on the computer live
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Its transforming the underground and helping people like me get there music heard and posted out there on websites like soundclick and myspace.com/djposh and it makes it easy to network with artists and people
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yeah, I'm not a big fan of major labels, its pretty shady from what I've heard, I'd have to make sure my friend is with me while I'm reading over the contract, I wouldnt want to get screwed out of 95% of my money.
Band History:
started creating electronic music at age 17 and will continue for the rest of my life,
My first 4 cds that arent listed here because I used loops back when I first started due to not having any money, those 4 cds were called 1st .Tripno, 2nd Tripnotyzed, 3rd Tripnotic Psycotic, and the 4th Deteriorating Senses. My first cd Tripno I accually used garage band, while I was working up at this camp in the summer doing filming, editing, photography, and multimedia for the Tripno cd I made a trippy music video up at the camp.
The 3 cds after tripno I made with in Sonar 4 homestudio and used loops that came with the program plus a cd with loops, and a sound fx cd from my Vegas video editing software. For as terrible as those cds were and are, I got noticed by 2scr records. After the 4th cd deteriorating senses, I needed to do some research about software programs for creating beats, I tried reason, and then I downloaded the 30day trial version of Cakewalk Kinetic, and I was saved from using loops forever.
I made 3 cds using that 30day trial version of Kinetic.
The Electronic Carnival CD I made using the 30 day trial version of Cakewalk Kinetic, and Sonar 4 Homestudio, the Electronic Carnival was my first time making beats. FreeeK ShoW was supposed to be another piece of the electronic carnival cd, FreeeK ShoW was also made with the Kinetic 30day trial version. My next cd #7 was called that because it was my seventh cd, but it felt like my third cd. After #7 my trial version ended and I bought Kinetic 2.
Tripnosez Overdosez had a lot of tracks on it, like an overdose of trippy material. Noise Pollution was a learning new things kind of cd and I just needed a place to put all these experimental songs that werent really finished. dysfunctioNature “I will get back to this one I haven’t listened to it for a like over a yearâ€쳌. Nervouz Breakdown had a dark vibe to it kinda like all my music but there were some new stuff I tried on this one like the track “Cry Outletâ€쳌. The Future Today I had a big vision for it but it didn’t come, The whole thing was supposed to take place in the future, with really futuristic beats, music, apocalyptic vibes, and stories the next time I attempt one like this one I will accually be able to do it lol I’ve gotten so much better it’s a trip in itself wow. The Out of Bounds cd has my first good trance song called “Limitlessâ€쳌 it was the first song where my friend couldn’t stop listening to it, I named it Out of Bounds for a number of reasons one being that I don’t play by the rules with my music, and aren’t afraid to experiment. TripnoLogical “I will write about this one laterâ€쳌. Veins of Electricity was a good one “I will write about this one laterâ€쳌. The Question Mark cd has some good stuff on it I gave it out to a lot of ravers and etards they all loved it, its got the song “Fuzzyâ€쳌. After the Question Mark cd I bought Sonar 7 Studio Edition. Brain Cybernetics has a lot of experimental stuff I was trying a lot of new things with that one, but one of the songs called “Delectronicaâ€쳌 I used for my side project HallucINatioN and had a friend due vocals on it and is called “Feel Crazyâ€쳌 featuring Jesus.
The next cd Electronic Junkie had my first drum and bass track called “I Blackâ€쳌 and I actually edited this track in Kinetic 2 can you believe after all that time using Kinetic I never knew how to edit the song in it, I usually make the music in Kinetic and then export them into a folder and then bring them into Sonar 7 Studio Edition. Absence of Silence has a lot of good tracks “Expanding Timeâ€쳌 “Mind Controlâ€쳌 “BASSBASSâ€쳌 its got a different taste on it, from trance, dnb, classical, experimental, industrial, hardcoretechno ,hiphop, freestyle, and breaktbeat. I’m working on my new cd called Heavyweight I already got a lot tracks done and posted on myspace.com/djposh and soundclick.com and there will be more to come.
