John Floyd (born September 21, 1986) is an American rapper. Although mostly known as an underground rapper Floyd first rose to local fame by producing and featuring in projects, where he eventually achieved recognition for his work while featuring and eventually a small fan base for his own work. His style of rap is often described as unique and original as most often note his music could fit any genre. He often gets his points across without the means of profanity as most rappers in the industry rarely do and often has references to God which would almost make his music Gospel Rap though Floyd at times can be explicit . Floyd’s lyrical content are both soulful and modern and at times poetic. His versatility in songs can range from a metaphorical northern style to a simplistic southern style depending on the song. Floyd has two mixtapes yet to be commercially released Ain’ No Games Bein’ Played in 2006, and most recently Collab$ in 2009 (a mass collaboration mix tape of underground Artists). His mix tapes efforts have received numerous accolades from fans all across the world, as well as critical acclaim. None have become commercially release due to lack in production and the fact Floyd is an independent artist. Floyd plans to build his fan base first before he sells his Cds commercially through the internet and local performances and he plans to also run his own record label. Floyd already has several artists in mind as he’s featured on several underground Artists songs. Floyd is often referred to as JBFdaDon a name given to him from friends although he often says it he prefers his actual name.
