H.R is a (predominantly) electronic music project from Colorado.

Well, I'm a sophomore mechanical engineer at the University of Colorado-Boulder.
There are really only two things you need to know about me: I love baseball (both as an ardent Rockies fan and as an athlete) and I love music.

Note: My songs are listed in alphabetic order in subsections. The first section has my best tracks, then there are my transitional originals and remixes which bridged the gap between where I am now and my midi days, then some of my older music and finally, some random crap I put on here for fun (which isn't in any particular order).
Why this name?
I'm a huge Rockies fan so my name originated from "Matt Holliday's Reign." That phrase eventually shortened to Holliday's Reign. Then, I made a song that I considered to be my signature song at the time called Raintrance. Also, the first line of Holiday by Green Day is: "Hear the sound of the falling rain!" So from then on, I was Hollidayrain. After Matt Holliday was traded on November 10th, 2008, Hollidayrain was unofficially shortened to H.R.
Do you play live?
Well, a lot of the stuff I make is pure production or played on my keyboard and EWI (MIDI-controllers), but I occasionally record live stuff like my voice, which may be singing, rapping or beatboxing, and my clarinet (which is pretty nice; it's a Buffet E11!). I love performing my clarinet for events. I've had some good times with that.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Much easier to access. Big plus.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If it came up, I would definitely take it. I once thought that this was going to be nothing more than a hobby, but recently I've come to the realization that I would love to do this for a living. But as an engineering major, I wouldn't mind leaving it as a hobby.
Band History:
Started doin' this when I was 10. I was pretty bleh then, I wasn't even considered to be the best at what I did in my class (which consisted of about 35 people). I was a big MIDI guy for many years. In fact, it was my medium of choice until I was 15, when I first downloaded the FL Studio demo. Since then, I've been honing my skills with that; at first ripping my old midis and refurbishing them, then making some originals and remixes. Now, I use a variety of programs/controllers/instruments to make my tracks.
Your influences?
Astral Projection, ATB, Above & Beyond, BT, Cake, Darude, DJ Quicksilver, E Nomine, Fatboy Slim, Ferry Corsten, Journey, Juno Reactor, Renaissance Era Small Ensemble Music (Michael Prætorius, etc.), Rob Dougan, Scooter, Starsplash, Tiësto.
Favorite spot?
Coors Field, Denver.
Equipment used:
FL8 is my DAW, Akai EWI-USB and Yamaha PSR-225 as midi-controllers, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro Headphones, and some Logitech speakers. And of course, the most powerful midicontroller of all, my brain.
Anything else...?
