I wanted a band name that would say something about the Music played as well as the overall meaning behind the Music. Athena was the beautiful Greek goddess of industry, justice, skill, the arts, war and wisdom; Eyes are used to see, and are the primary sense humans use.
Eyes of Athena is an intriguing name that alludes to the beauty of the Music as well as the goal of the Music, which is to teach the listener about the bleakness of life and the reality of humanity, while shedding light on the disorder of manic-depression, which most of the members of the band suffer from.

We don't play live yet, but we are looking forward to doing so.
The closest we have come to playing live was after a practice session where we played 2 completed songs for 10 people who are friends/family of us.

It's a great way to get exposure and make a band's Music available to people who may otherwise not be able to hear it otherwise.
If a band is underground and/or unconventional (like us) and not likely to be widely available in Music stores, the Internet is a valuble tool.

As long as the label did not place creative restrictions on the band, hell yes.

It started out as just an idea in one guy's dark and twisted mind, and took 3 years to come to life as a real, functioning band with a solid (and full) line-up. When that happened, the song writing happened extremely fast and several songs were laid out, fine tuned and completed after only a few practice sessions. In true Doomed fashion the process became slowed down and eventually put on hold due to financial problems for all band members.

The only recordings available are a few different Guitar tracks done at home using a computer, Cubase recording software and a PreSonus Inspire interface. We are planning to do more recording when things return to relatively normal. Meanwhile, promotion of the band continues with merchandise to be made available in the near future.

Crushing, monolithic, desperate, depressed, depressing, epic, HEAVY f***ing DOOM METAL!
We also listen to Black Metal, Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Hardcore, which is reflected in the sound of the Music.

My personal favorite place is Salem, Oregon. It's a gorgeous place where it rains a lot, and the skies are usually gray (perfectly matching the atmosphere inside of my head.)
Guitar Center kicks ass, too.
