P3, or P-Cubed, as they sometimes call themselves, began as a last-minute impromptu jam. It's rock, jazz, blues and fusion all wrapped up in a not-so-neat, but great-sounding, package. P3 in concert is literally a work in progress, mostly jazz/rock/fusion and mostly instrumental. They pretty much make it up as they go along.
Why this name?
Each member's name begins with "P".
Do you play live?
"The first time they played, I didn't know what to expect," club-owner Cliff Morgan said. "They blew me, and everyone else, away. That says a lot about these guys that they can just pick up instruments and jam because they’re so good. I wanted to have them back."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Now we can all put it out there, and everyone has access to it.

Band History:
Brought together as the result of a "happy accident," P3 sound as though they've been playing together for years.
The band got its start in January, 2003 as a last-minute replacement when the scheduled entertainment at a coffeehouse, couldn't make it. Club owner Cliff Morgan called Studio 415 owner and guitarist Paul Barton and asked if he could come up with a show. Paul started calling musicians and managed to assemble a three-piece band.
Although they hadn't had time to rehearse prior to taking the stage, the guys had such fun playing together that night and their music got such an enthusiastic reception from the crowd they decided to form a "real" band. Due to other commitments, the original drummer wasn't able to participate, so Barton and bassist Paul Kollar called upon Kollar's friend, drummer Phil Wylie.
Since then, P3 has been playing out steadily in the Triangle (North Carolina, USA) area and has actually been known to rehearse occasionally. They recorded their debut CD during a live performance at The Coffee Mill in April 2003 and have plans for additional live and studio recordings.
