My name is Claribel & I'm a singer/songwriter from NYC. I've been writing, singing and performing since age 12, and I would describe my music a work in progress because I'm still discovering my style as an artist. I currently teach dance in Westchester.
Why this name?
It's the name I was born with lol
Do you play live?
I have before, but I have nothing coming up as of right now.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think there are positve and negative aspects to it. For me it's great because I'm an aspiring singer/songwriter, so the internet is a great place to get your stuff heard and network. However for established artists I imagine that it's also negative because of piracy and all that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
YES, lol
Your influences?
I'm into everything, my obsession with music really started when I was little, and I'd say everyone from Michael Jackson to The Beatles has influenced me some what. Today I like to listen to upbeat songs you can dance to ( Ciara, Justin Timberlake) as well as more mellow music like Fiona Apple and Coldplay. My favorite bands and artists include The Strokes, Lauren Hill and Phantom Planet.
Favorite spot?
NYC of course!
