55 west is an acoustic/modern rock band from boston. We fuse the acoustic world with a bit of effects and samples. crafty lyrics and lots of melody make up some of the building blocks of their music.
Why this name?
Well it was the singer's adress at one time. the name just stuck.
Do you play live?
We play live around the area, places like the skybar, and recently the hard rock cafe. gigging is a necesity in our band because we are always trying out new things
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We it enhances it and we are all for the digital revolution!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends. We'll deal with it when the day comes.
Band History:
It started a year ago in my room. I made a disc, got a band here we are.
Your influences?
Our influences range from Duncan sheik to the goo goo dolls; from dream theatre to the police;from ben folds five to miles davis. We all come from different back grounds and bring a little to the musical table.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere we get a show!
