Coming out of central Texas, Syntax brings a driving blend of hard rock, metal, and blues that is distinctively Southern, yet belongs in a class all its own. The socially charged lyrics of Dustin Smith collide with the pummelling, grooving rhythms laid down by Adam Reed (guitar), Chris Gore( bass) and Robert McNeil (drums) to create a new breed of Texas Metal. Why this name?
It took us a long f***ing time but our singer said he saw the word on a bill-board and like the meanings of the word and it just fit the criteria.
Do you play live?
Hell yeah we play live, we play anywhere we can and we love it. One special moment was when we were playing the 6/9 Fest and we were jamming so hard we split the stage 6 inches and blew out 2 stage lights! F*** Yeah!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
MP3 and internet helps music greatly.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.
Band History:
We formed in November 2005. We all have been in bands that didnt quite work out, which is how we found each other, it took us a while to find 4 guys that actually got along together. When you can write a song or perform live without worrying about other members, it makes the show that much better.
Your influences?
Pantera, RATM, BLS, System of a Down,Down, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Metallica(old School), Type O Neagative, Corrosion Of Conformity, etc...
