Hi, My name is Ed Gowens. I am a songwriter of mostly sad Traditional Country and Gospel songs.

I am also a member of "The Higher Ground Band" Here are several songs I wrote or co-wrote plus some songs written by members of our band.

The Higher Ground Band performs a "Johnny Cash" Tribute show while also incorporating some of our own songs into the show. I hope you enjoy your visit here

Do you play live?
My band "Higher Ground" plays all over the south east at various shows and events.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is a great tool for people like us to get our songs heard by more people
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, I don't think so. I like working with Indie Artists
Your influences?
Merle Haggard,Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and The Statler Brothers Plus several other Traditional Artists
Favorite spot?
My home town of course, Calhoun, GA
