I've been playing music since I was 9 years old in 1988. I took piano lessons for 5 years. I played some cello and piano in school orchestra, but I eventually found the instrument for me when I got a guitar in 1995. I've played music in a couple of bands and jammed with countless friends, but this site is to showcase my solo music as I record it on my computer.
Do you play live?
Live...yes, both solo and previously with the band I was in. I love the thrill of live performance...it is such a rush. There is nothing like it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Interet and mp3s have completely changed music. Now you can be ignored by the whole WORLD instead of just your buddies or the folks in the local scene. It's an amazing thing.
Your influences?
My influences started off much different then they are today. Blues was all that I listened too...Stevie Ray Vaughan is the reason that I picked up guitar. Hendrix was very close behind that, and some other classic rock - especially the Beatles. Then I found Soundgarden right before they broke up and I got into rock. After that it was Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Protein, Incubus, Spacehog, Superdrag, Jeff Buckley - along with a lot of local bands, especially Captain of Industry and Shrug.
Equipment used:
I use a Yamaha Pacifica and a Telecaster through a Marshall head with a Peavey 4X10 cabinet. For effects I use two distortion pedals, a super-shifter, a delay, and a wah. Occasionally I'll use some other effects.
Anything else...?
Check out my previous bands... Fear of Beards at www.soundclick.com/FearOfBeards and my old band, Mazaru at www.soundclick.com/Mazaru.
