The band is basically just me, but I've collaborated and played with other people over the years. I've been writing songs since the day after I got my first guitar on my sixteenth birthday. I've kept what amounts to a diary in sound -- and it's the fruits of these dozens of hours of sound recordings that I'll be presenting on this page.
Why this name?
It's because my name is Kim (yes, it really is, even though I'm a guy). And Kim o' the Concrete Jungle does a good job of suggesting the kind of music I play.
Do you play live?
Playing live is a sparodic thing for me. It all comes down to opportunity and the amount of hassle involved. I'm still open to getting serious about it, so you never know, there might be an opportunity to see my live one day.

And I can promise you that, when I do actually get onto a stage in front of people, I don't slack off. The bass is my instrument of choice, but I also play guitar.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
There are a lot of people posting their own Mp3s. I know that much.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the deal was right I would. Mostly it isn't. That's why I'm a musician with no fixed plans about earning a living from the music industry. Unless, of course, I get lucky and my DIY stuff takes off... Hey, I can dream, can't I?
Your influences?
The bands that have had the most influence on me were local Australian underground bands, who, in their day, played very distinctive music, but who are now mostly gone. These were bands like The Birthday Party, Hunters & Collectors, Toys Went Berserk, Kim Salmon and the Surrealists, and so on.
Favorite spot?
I would say Sydney, but I'm biased.
Equipment used:
My Rickenbacker guitar is an old favourite, and I've got an Ibanez Artcore that I'm loving at the moment. My bass rig is a temperamental mish-mash of odds and ends. For recording I'm using cheap or free stuff (Audacity, Modplug Tracker). I can't afford to do otherwise, unless someone wants to start paying me for writing these songs.
