At the moment it's me, my instruments, my recorder and my rubbish voice. I am however fed up playing with myself and would really like to meet some other musicians for a 'muck around'. I'm not looking for world domination - too many jobs to do around the house - but a loose 'get together' to enjoy playing with others would be a lovely diversion.
Why this name?
Near to where I live there are some moorings that were used over a hundred years ago to moor fishing and trade boats - and these mooring posts were called dolphins - no-one knows why - although this term was well used and documented in writings of the time. Now they have weathered and in some cases degenerated almost to the point of departure. I liked the sound of 'the dolphin post' and liked the 'english-ness'of it
Your influences?
Ive spent my entire life dividing music into two piles - things I like at the moment, and things I don't. Often music and artists shift from one pile to the other. In the same way I am sure I have been influenced musically by as many things as I don't like as I do like - even music you strongly despise influences what and how you chose to play.
