With the release of their much anticipated mix tape (The Chop Shop Customs and Classics), The Fam has made their mark in the underground hip hop scene and continues to represent the B.C. interior with unstoppable force. Z-LG aka Zane L. Gold a producer and ceo of So Low Records founded the group in 2005 bringing together the wide range of talents possessed by m.c.'s Dollah D, John Mitchell and Crome. Within weeks the hip hop group was opening for top shelf acts such as Kyprios and The Game. Their charismatic nature along with an undeniable ability to set the mood of a song is a good enough reason alone to be an instant fan of The Fam, but you add brilliant lyrics, a remarkable talent to rhyme in many rhythms and top it off with the fact that all these guys can sing, its a no-brainer that this act is only headed for bigger things. Z-LG talks about the future plans for The Fam," we're definitely taking advantage of what we have with this group, I mean how can you not? I myself am my biggest critic and ya, there's always something I can find in song that I want to be even better, its the perfectionist in me, but when I hear the vibe and what this group posse’s I can't be wondering ten years from now what could have happened if we had put one hundred percent in it, the odds are to much in our favor". The Fam is currently promoting their latest release The Chop Shop and plans are underway to start working on their debut major release.
