The Human Project
The Human Project is fronted by Loyd (The Human) Vandergriff of the Central Valley of California. He is primarily a singer song writer and when he goes into the studio to record, he forms "The Human Project." He just released his new CD, Human Project II, "Humanized." It contains 10 more original songs. This disk definately rocks. His first CD was "The Real Stuff" released in June of 2006.
Why this name?
I got the nickname "The Human" in my younger days. I always dug music, new all the lyrics to all the songs...always had good music with me.
Do you play live?
The Human plays live on occasion and loves it. The highlight was Stanford University in 2006 at a pre-game party prior to the Navy game.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives people exposure to smaller independent artists like myself and many other artists on this site. It lets good music get out to people who really dig real music, not corporate driven bullshit recorded for commericial purposes.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I don't think there is any chance that a major label would be interested in my material or anybody elses on here. This type of music would not sell enough units to the public to get them interested. Plus, the artist looses control. If all the conditions were good, sure I would. Its a pipe dream.
Band History:
The Human started this in 2005.
Your influences?
Bob Segar, Wet Willie, Delbert McClinton, ZZ Top, Elvin Bishop, the Rascals, Animals. etc.
Favorite spot?
Maui
Equipment used:
Fender Stat. and Telecaster. Fender Deluxe Twin Reverb amp.
Anything else...?
I just dig playin and writing. Would love to play live more. It would be cool for one of my songs to hit and maybe have a major artist record it.
