Not really a band.

I'm just a guy learning to play guitar. I had never played a musical instrument for my entire life before this. I've now been taking guitar lessons since August of 2004 which is when my daughter and son also both began taking lessons. Recently I've been corresponding with some other enthusiastic beginners around the world and we've figured out how to create and share backing tracks and add percussion and lead tracks and such. The open critiquing and support has been great and I look forward to creating more music in the future. The learning experience has been phenominal. I wish I had learned many, many years ago. The ability to jam with my own kids is so rewarding that if I never do anything else with this instrument, I will be happy.
Why this name?
It's the name of my Industrial Design consultancy. I use the name for just about everything these days.
Do you play live?
I play live on my front porch just about every evening, weather permitting.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Just look at me! Without the internet and MP3 technology, I would not be able to share my musical ideas and would not be able to receive the critical comments that will make me a better player.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I doubt it. I have high hopes for my kids, though.
Favorite spot?
Wherever my family is is my favorite spot. I live in and love the city of Chicago.
Equipment used:
I have a Gibson SG special. I also have an Ovation acoustic/electric and a Garrison acoustic. My daughter plays an Epiphone Les Paul and my son plays a frankenstrat that we built from parts we gathered on eBay and other sources. We have a POD and a Behringer V-Amp. There are several combo amps scattered about the house.
Anything else...?
We record using crappy sound cards that are not really designed for recording. I have yet to buy any recording software. We use the free program called Audacity for now. I use PC drummer for percussion tracks.
