I have always been obsessed with electronic music, going to house, trance and hardcore parties whenever I could, I got my first set of decks in '98, I love to mix up my favourite house, techno and trance tunes and would record them to mixtapes, a few years later i started using loop editors to create my own sound and tried my best to produce a sound unlike others, it just exploded from there including the knowledge I gain from other people in the scene.

Why this name?

Orillasound is a project name derived from two words, 'Orilla' which is a spanish word used to define the edge of the water, and the word 'Sound' to emphisise what the project is about. I used the word 'Orilla' because I have lived on coastal areas for most of my life, in UK and abroad.

Do you play live?

I have not played live YET!! This is subject to change in the near future.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet has allowed me to spread my blissed out beats and electro wonder across the globe on a very tight budget, attracting the attention of 142 thousand listeners to my streaming media this year alone. This would have been impossible with no online social networking so this is how the internet has changed the music industry, it allows emerging artists to be heard by a wide audience before being officially released which is great from a exposure point of view as well as collaboration with other artists whom are in a similar position.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If the right deal came my way then yes, absolutely.

Your influences?

Big influences to me are Paul of Double Vision whom produced videos for the likes of Ultrasonic, Praga Khan, Rezerection, Fubar and Metro. Lorne Walton a music producer in my home town Oban whom ran a number of techno nights at Harbour Lights. Daniel Pease a great dj whom was regular at Harbour Lights i got in contact with him when co-organising a dance event with the former Take This Promotions. Mark Gowdie a successful dj i first seen at Bobs Your Uncle gigs in Oban. Carl Cox whom I first seen at Rezerection. Paul Oakenfold whom ive been listening to since the early ninties. Eat Static who blew me away with their psychodelic sounds, theres loads more, i could be here for quite some time.........
