The Five Second Rule is a four piece band from southwestern PA. Our band consists of guitar, bass, and drums, the fundamental components of all genres of rock music. We play a unique blend of funk, hard rock, and blues with some folk influences. We are serious about music, but still have fun with it. We aren't looking to revolutionize music or anything like that, but it'd be cool if we did. We're just a couple of guys who love music and decided to make a band.
Why this name?
Well, we were really high . . . Nah, just kidding. One of our friends came up with ti and it stuck.
Do you play live?
Heck yes. We love playing live, especially for an energetic audience. We play locally, at parties, clubs, and even down at the community center.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Gets your stuff out there quicker. Simple as that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Heck yes.
Band History:
We started out as a three piece experiment that, after gaining another guitarist and switching up our drummer, became an actual band. We've evolved our own unique style from blending all our favorite genres. We call it "alternative funk rock."
Your influences?
Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Wolf Mother, Tom Petty, The Beatles.
Favorite spot?
Harrison City, baby. There's no place like home.
Equipment used:
Guitars, a bass, a set, some mics, anad a few amps. We like to keep it simple.
