Why this name?
I choose to stay with my actual name because I think it's unique and different sort of like how I would describe myself as an artist. I like to bring new ideas and techniques to the table. No matter what i'm doing it's bound to be different but good at the same time.
Do you play live?
I sing anywhere I get the chance, from family gatherings to any talent show I can find. It's that love I have that makes me keep doing it which eventually makes me better at my craft.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet changed the music industry alot because it gives a lot of unsigned artists like myself more exposure, it's pratically like an automatic relationship between you and the industry because many of todays artist are being discovered on the internet.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes! hands down, as long as it's a fair contract I have aboslutely no problem.
Band History:
I'm a Sr. at the Brookyn School for Music & Theatre(B.S.M.T) where I was declared top prize winner at the B.S.M.T talent show, which landed me a demo deal and a opportunity to sign a record deal with Virgin Records America. I also have been/am a part of many organizations such as City Kids where talented teenagers express themselves through the arts, The Summer Arts Institute where I recieve vocal training, Music Improvisation camp, and The Church Choir. Although my main focus is singing I also dance and act. Some dances I have been a part of was school productions Grease, Chicago, and the Wiz and a dance entitled Africa peformed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Some plays I been a part of include Romeo & Juliet, Gigamesh, and The Comedy of Errors, I also take acting classes with proffesional actress Brooke Bundy. Anything that has to do with a stage count me in.
Your influences?
Some of my musical influences include Michael Jackson, Tevin Campbell, Usher, and Destiny's Child who to me are all different in their own way.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is the stage, almost like home it's where i'm comfortable, and do what I do best.
