South Hall Riot is an original alternative/modern rock band hailing from Auburn, NY. The majority of the band consists of members from the old band Drop12 (also from Auburn, NY) but with new life added to the originality side of the group. SHR consists of five talented musicians; Ken Adams (Guitar), Sean Conway (Drums), "Da'Don" (Vocals), Loren Littlejohn (Guitar), and Mark "Skeeter" Veator (Bass). With the catchy meaningful lyrics and the screaming vocals to the heavy in your face melodic guitar riffs, break downs and skillfull drumming, one thing is for sure; South Hall Riot will have you bobbin your head and rockin' out to their music for days to come! 2006 is a new year and South Hall Riot is a new band that will definitely be added into the local and regional music scene in upstate New York so be on the lookout for upcoming shows and the full length album -PRISON BREAK- is out NOW!!!

Why this name?
I'm not too sure if all of you know where or even heard of our hometown city Auburn, NY. For all of you who do not know we are from upstate New York about a 30-40 min drive from Syracuse,NY. Auburn is typically known for 3 main things: 1) annoying ass birds known as CROWS, 2) Metal Gods - MANOWAR, and 3) The Auburn Prison which was home to the FIRST EVER electric chair in the country.
To make a long story short we decided to make a certain section of our prison our main theme for the band name. Back in 1929 there were 2 huge riots within the walls of the prison. Fires and raging riots were a direct result of the failing Mutual Welfare League during this time period. For more information on Auburn's maximum security prison feel free to check out the links below for more pictures and info.

In a nutshell we simply took on a famous section of the prison and tied in the riots that took place during 1929, stuck them together and came up with one bad ass band name that represents some of Auburn, NY's most famous history within the prison!
