Welcome Jammers!!!!
12/06/08
Well, The Tingly Man rocked out last night, Boys and Girls. (And he was exhausted afterward!!)
Here's the photographic evidence:
This is the cafe from the outside.
It's small, but mucho 'cute.'
This is the view from directly in front.
That's me in the window, on the right, setting up.
This is Jennifer, a customer and a vocal
instructor and opera singer with the Northern
Westchester Music Teachers Alliance. She was
great, and I was flattered that she sang with me!
These were my delicious little ham & cheese
sandwiches that were part of my salary.

Here's some recent pix of me, playing:
Broken strings don't stop me!
'Ready for anything?
Jus' playin'...

The band is "on hiatus" at this point, whatever that means. (We are taking a break.)

The gig went great, but it was TOO HOT!!!

I'm very busy getting the band ready for a September 8 gig at a Little League picnic in New Jersey.

Played a great gig on Staten Island last night. It was a lot of fun. 'Made some money, and drank free beer, too!

Played a gig last night for a Knights of Columbus lodge, in central Jersey. The band played well, but the crowd seemed a little subdued. It was an odd mix of older people, who seemed to want to talk, and a very young crowd that wanted to drink. Thank goodness, we brought one groupie with us, and she listened to our whole show, and thought we were just the greatest band she had ever heard!

After a hiatus of two and a half months, The Tingly Man is again seeking podcast interview subjects. I posted a message in the Tingly News Thread at the Jam Session guitar forum today asking for candidates to PM me. Or you can email me through this site.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance.

Hello, hello, hello! This is The Tingly Man's Site!
Why this name?
Oy. Okay. Long story made very short. I was in a guitar duo. I chose the name "Tingly Thighs" for us, after the condition women were getting from wearing "low rider" jeans - all the rage back then. My partner was never too crazy about the name. So I would tease him about it and say, "I'm Tingly, you're the Thighs!"
Do you play live?
Umm. Yeah. Like, I'm in a band, and yes, I like it. Special moments? Oh yes. Like when I had an allergic reaction to bug spray at a gig and my face swelled up and I couldn't see or talk, and a drunk hassled me, and the band had a fight, and we got thrown out of the venue. It was REAL special!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
A lot!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'd sign almost anything if someone said they would give me money afterwards.
Band History:
Yes, there's plenty of history, but it's very emotional and involves a lot of lawsuits, so I can't really go into it.
Your influences?
Women and liquor.
Favorite spot?
Favorite spot: Left nipple. Favorite city: New York.
Equipment used:
A pair of Radio Shack 33-3037 Dynamic Microphones.
Anything else...?
A box of tissues.
