AUTO CIRCUS- It's not where you're going. It's who you're going with.
Why this name?
It's an obscure reference to the Cohen brothers' 'The Big Lebowski'.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has opened up what was once very much a closed shop.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
There's not much I wouldn't do to make music for a living.
Band History:
Formed in June 2002, we started out with a basic rock sound. Over the last year this has evolved into a more pop-orientated approach. We've found our sound now- anthemic guitar pop with a groove provided the rhythm section. We're all from Southampton, and for the first time in our lives there is a semblance of a music scene here. Not that we're remotely interseted in what anyone else is doing. But there's something in the air down here...
Your influences?
Prince, The Stone Roses, The Verve, Nirvana, Guns'n'Roses, Alexander O'Neil, Shack, Aerosmith, The Charlatans, The Beach Boys, Motley Crue, Kraftwerk, New Order, Darius.
Favorite spot?
The Alexandra public house, Southampton. When we're massive they'd better give us our own table to sleep under.
