The band make-up features 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 3 saxes and rhythm. Our styles reach back as far as the 30-40's to a mixture of some modern day swing. I invite you to sit back and enjoy the Living Waters Jazz repertoire.

Why this name?
About 1999 I was looking for a theme for the band and I remembered I went with my room mate in college to a place called Camp Living Waters somewhere in Pa. It was pleasant, surrounded by Pennsylvania hills covered with trees and was absolutely enjoyable. A fond memory for me and a breakout point in my life, I thought this would be a great name for a band.
Do you play live?
Studio only.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Certainly the internet has had an impact and allows more indie's to present their talents via a wide range of possibilities with Soundclick being one of them.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Over ten years ago I answered the question differently. Presently I would say would the major labels even have something that isn't within their formulas.
Band History:
Living Waters Jazz is originally conceived in or about 1999. As each arrangement was completed I posted the audio here on Soundclick. Over ten years later Living Waters Jazz has gone through several changes which includes one commercial release. The enjoyment of doing big band composition, arrangement, rendering and mixing/mastering is something I haven't tired of yet so the band's history is still being written.
Your influences?
Big Band Swing as typified by The Swing Era. Bebop. Modern variations. Elevator music. Some Latin.
Favorite spot?
Sitting with the Mrs. and kids.
Equipment used:
All the work from composition to master is done via computer.
Anything else...?
I was a music major (sax & bassoon) in college attending IUP and then the Navy. I started my own business in 1992 and have been doing that since. I squeeze the music in when I can. Often times I have considered writing the arrangements out and starting up a local jazz band. Maybe one day? I still play sax often but only within the confines of the house.
