I'm just a struggling producer from The D, I think my music is nice, but the important part will be whether or not you think so too.
Why this name?
I think my beats are dope, Dope Beats, I had to add the 313 because the Dope Beats was already taken, and if you haven't seen 8 Mile, 313 is the area code to Detroit
Do you play live?
I do not do live shows as of yet, but hopefully I can make some money here and that can change so I can start buying real equipment and learning to use it
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet completely changes the landscape of the industry. Where normally lazy slackers like myself would have no chance of ever landing a record deal, I can now sit on my ass while I get my name out there.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As long as I had a good attorney, and the label wasn't giving me a raw deal.
Band History:
Not much history here, ever since I was kid I wanted to make beats but I never knew how to go about it and/or never had the cash. Then one day I heard about some kid 9th Wonder that was doing amazing things on his computer, and the rest is history...
Your influences?
My influences come mostly from the late great JDilla aka Jay-Dee, but I love Kanye West, DJ Premier, and 9th Wonder just to name a few, but there are many more.
Favorite spot?
Detroit, I got love for everybody, but The D is where I belong
Equipment used:
Dell Dimension XPS, Adobe Audition, and Fruity Loops
