We were around in the late 70's to mid 80's but thought it might be nice to showcase some of our old stuff both from a performing and songwriting aspect. Also, ex-members are intending to create new music in the near future. Watch this space! Anyhow, we were (in alphabetical order):- Neil Atkins (vocals & drums), Paul S. Baker (vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass & drums), Andy Furlong (vocals, guitar & bass), Tobe Richards (vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass, banjo & mandolin), Romanie Ruggier (vocals & keyboards), Alan Seth (bass), Alan Trevisani (vocals, drums & keyboards)
Why this name?
We used to travel around in an old transit van - thus the name!
Do you play live?
We used to. Our most interesting moment was getting lost in a haze of sticky liquid smoke pumped out by our sound/light guy Tony. By the end of the show, we couldn't see the audience and the audience couldn't see us!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For the better. It's really shaken it up
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Probably not applicable unless the band reforms
Your influences?
Beach Boys, Neil Young, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, CSN, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles etc.
Favorite spot?
Where my wife, Chris is!
Equipment used:
A lot of older stuff. For example:- Korg Lambda, Arp Odyssey, Ibanez Les Paul Custom, Casio 202, Hammond L122, Jedson EBO bass, DPM48 Drums, Roland CR78, Suzuki Folk Guitar, Shergold Masquerader 12-String, Yamaha DX7, Audio-Technica 4-track, Teac Tascam 144, Big Muff, Fender Twin Reverb, Fender FC10 Classic, Hohner Clavinet D6, Hohner Pianet, LP Percussion, Korg DDM 220, Suzuki 5-String Banjo, European Flatback Mandolin, Shure SM58, Framus Jan Akkerman, E-mu Sampling keyboard etc.
Anything else...?
If anyone fancies covering any of our songs, we'd love to hear from you. I think this is as much a showcase of the songs as our talents or lack of them!!!
