In the meantime check out the SOTHZINE review of "the rural sequence":

"The rural sequence seems like coming from another dimension, it sounds vintage and avantgarde at the same time. Mulptiple music genres are mixed together to give that unique feel, downtempo, acid jazz, various electronic stuff and other indescribable things are all there. The downtempo rhythm is relatively unchanging over the 55 minutes of the album and the contrast between tracks is rather created using changes in the feel and nature of the sound. However it stays homogenous from the beginning til the end. Quality work I have to say, people who like happy music will be delighted."

Why this name?
An anemone is an undersea creature with multiple tentacles, swaying to the flow of the water, gathering what little bits of sustenance it can from passing by materials. Thats how I make my music as well.
Do you play live?
I play live on occasion, but work and family (especially the brand new baby!) take up the majority of my time and prevent me from extensive gigging. Oh and the lack of reliable equipment doesn't help either.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I have a website, I sell discs online, and a good portion of my music goes to / comes from people i meet on forums or otherwise online. It has really expanded the market for good music, whilst also flooding it with mediocre music. You win some, you lose some...

You should go to anemonemusic.com right now.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If i could live up to the contract and the timing and whatnot was right, i would consider it.
Band History:
Anemone is an organist/producer that creates downtempo, acid-jazz, breakbeat, and experimental audio tapestries on which to lay down some mad keyboard chops. He uses a variety of hardware and software to create rhythmic interplay and add organic elements to the music in the forms of vintage keyboards, guitars, saxaphone, and ethnic percussion.

Anemone began this life-long musical journey into electronic music with the family computer, the Commodore-64. Painstakingly programming note values into the rudimentary C-64 Basic language at an early age would soon lead into more advanced sequencing and recording experiments. When these forays were combined with the family piano, saxaphone, Kimball organ, quitars, and a Yamaha 4-track, unique sounds began to emerge from the magnetic reels in the basement.
Your influences?
If John Medeski (from Medeski, Martin, and Wood) had nothing but his organ, a synth, and a laptop on a deserted island where there were fields of wild ganja, that is what i think i sound like.
Equipment used:
Laptop with ableton live and a load of free plug-ins, yamaha sk-20 (analog synth/organ), piano, korg ms-2000, dictation machine, yamaha mtx-100 4track, mics, compressors, acoustic guitar, accordion, and the list goes on, and on...
