Telford's premier horror-punk band!
Why this name?
DR Zombie (vocals/guitar) chose the name as horror-punk is meant to be horrible but not taken seriously, tongue-in-cheek if you will.
Do you play live?
We're based in a place called Telford, a small town not too far away from Birmingham. Telford sucks as a place to play as there aren't any really decent venues, just pubs and clubs but there's some great bands here. We're starting to play bigger places such as Wolverhampton and Birmingham, we've managed to get Blitzkid a gig in Wolverhampton and we supported them.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I personally prefer to buy a CD and get the whole package: the artwork, the lyrics, photos and most of all the CD! But MP3 streamer sites are cool to hear of new bands, but I don't agree with downloading illegally!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends what the situation is, from what history's shown... indie bands gone major tend to alter their styles drastically. I'm not sure whether this is a personal choice or a pressured choice, but it seems indie bands seem to get more freedom and stay closer to fans.
Band History:
We started in Autumn 2005 when me/Billeth (vocals/bass) and DR Zombie (vocals/guitar) met at College. We jammed with a few drummers, but nothing worked until we got Daisy behind the kit in January 2006. We recorded several demos and played 30+ gigs over the next year and are currently working on our debut album.
Your influences?
A lot of our influences are horror-punk, punk and pyscho-billy bands, such as: the Misfits, Ramones, Tiger Army, Necromantix, Rancid, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Mister Monster, AFI, Samhain etc.
Favorite spot?
Wolverhampton is an awesome place to play.
Equipment used:
Marshall guitar amp, Park bass amp, Pearl drums and SM-58 mics.
