Why this name?
Dyus stands for "juice" in Tagalog, native Filippino language. Got the name from fellow peers who felt I pumped up the crowd because I "got the juice". It has stuck with me ever since.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes it easily accessible to those who might not have had a chance to get it otherwise.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if that is in the future....
Band History:
First introduced to the jazz and hip-hop genres in the early-mid 90's. Music at this time was a source of comfort and escape especially at a critical time after a family member's death. Being an only child, I had time to reflect and gather my thoughts. I was angry and yet calm at the same time. From that time on, I started writing rhymes on various topics that were always introduced into my life. I could not have imagined what I had written back then was mature beyond my years.
Now older, I went to public hang outs and started show casing my skills. Entered a few local competitions in the area and finally unleashed my feelings from the past and incorporated it into the rap battles. After some time, I knew there was more to rap than battles. I stepped away from it and was in hiatus. Years later during college, I made friends with "DJ Frantik". He is resident DJ for SESSION A @ CAL POLY POMONA. I was invited to check it out. The whole atmosphere, crowd, and music brought back the intense feelings I had for the art. I started getting back to what I had missed before and that was the style.
Presently, I am a staunt supporter of SESSION A. I drop by their shows when I get a chance, but for the most part I am working independently with some help from people in Carson/SouthBay Area on tracks I'll be coming out in due time..............

Your influences?
Jazz and Hip Hop are the two musical influences. Mostly story-line style / current events based type. A change from the norm and opens hearts and minds to what people are accustomed to.
Favorite spot?
Pomona + Carson, California.... My two base pads.
